Question: I have swollen ankle and pain in back of my ankle/heel. Not on bottom of my heel. I tried icing it, but it doesn't last. Is there something else I can try?

Brief Answer:
Ankle sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, it appears to be an ankle sprain.

Yes, you can use NSAIDs like meloxicam or diclofenac to help with the pain and inflammation. An ankle splint should be worn to help keep the area safe from unnecessary mobility.

If the pain persists or worsens then x rays of the area would be required to rule out a fracture.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
