Question: Swollen ankle and foot large very red rash, about 2 inches where my top of my sock hits. Feels better without socks. Has not gone away. Have had this for 3 days

Hi,

I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be an ecchymotic patch. It can occur due to any unnoticed trauma on the affected part or in patients who are on blood thinners.

I would recommend you to keep your foot elevated, avoid prolonged standing, walking and take anti-inflammatory medicines like tablet Ibuprofen for swelling.

The rash usually takes around 2 weeks to resolve.
