Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: Hi,

Now it is around four months after my marriage. My doctor suggested me to take fertigyn 5000 at 13th day of my period. I today is my 22nd day.
I feel a pain in right abdomen and sometimes in left also. I also have leg pains. Does it mean that I will not get pregnant this month? Should I stop intercourse from now till my 28th day?

Brief Answer:
need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion we may not be able to predict that you are not going to be pregnant with these symptoms.Pregnancy is confirmed when the period is missed. The pains might be non specific.
Fertigyn 5000 injection is given for the ovulation to occur .Ovulation occurs 24 to 36 hours after the injection is given. So you need to participate in intercourse during that period for sure.
Its not that that you are going to have periods and need not participate in intercourse. It is better to practice intercourse irrespective of days because keeping fixed days for intercourse for pregnancy might cause some unknown stress .So its good to participate daily for increased chances of conception.
As you are just married 4 months back you might not worry about the pregnancy.Because infertility treatment is needed when pregnancy has not occurred after one year of unprotected intercourse.
I need furthur information like:-
1) May I know Your age?
2) How are your cycles?
3) Do you have any thyroid abnormalities or polycystic ovarian disease?
4) What is your height and weight?
5) Any stress?
6) How often you participate in intercourse?
Kindly provide me the information for furthur discussion.
Looking forward to hear from you.

I am 26yrs.
My period cycle in 28 or 29 days.
No thyroid problem. Didn't check for polycyst...
My height is 5.4 and weight is 56
Normally we participate in intercourse from 10th day to 20th day from start of my period.
And people say that I should avoid coffee and sweets. I am trying to do that.
And i travel around 15km to my office on public transportation or sometimes in two wheeler with my husband. Kindly tell me when should i avoid travelling.
And what else should i eat to have a healthy egg...?
Or to make my utres healthy..
The only stress i have is about my pregnancy :(
Actually we got married 7mnths before. But we started a proper intercourse only after 2mnths.

Brief Answer:
Stress is one of the causes for infertility

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I got your information.

In my opinion, I am happy to know that you don't have any thyroid problem.
You are young 26 years and in active reproductive age and recently married. I knew from your history that you participated actively in intercourse from 4 or 5 months. I feel there is absolutely no need to worry about pregnancy. Because your age and health status are all appropriate for conception.

Usually fertigyn is given in case of anovulation. As you have regular cycles, height and weight are appropriate, you might be having ovulation naturally also.

So I suggest you to be relaxed and free. Because stress regarding pregnancy might delay the conception further due to hormonal imbalance. Try to participate in intercourse daily rather not keeping the fixed days.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Thanks for your response Dr.Srilatha

I think you're telling that in this age, food and travel doesn't matter. Also i can naturally get ovulated. I follwed that particular days for intercourse because my fritold that you should not disturb your egg after fertilization, that is at the last week of my periods.
If that is not true, henceforth I will have frequent intercourse without having any fixed dates.

And iam taking fol-g1 tablet. Can I continue that??
My husband's age is 31. Is that not a problem?

Brief Answer:
continue fol-g1 tablet

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your concern.
In my opinion yes travelling doesn't affect the ovulation or fertilisation.Avoid junk food and have healthy nutritious food. All the veggies and fruits are rich in antioxidants which are very essential for body and they also help in conception.
There is nothing that ovum will be disturbed after fertilisation. And your husband age of 31 is appropriate and not a problem at all.
Leave away stress and try naturally for pregnancy and follow your doctors advise.
All the best.
Hope this satisfies your query.
