Brief answer....there is no oral medicine which can treat varicose veins.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Basically there is no medical treatment of this condition which occurs due to weakness of valves in the veins of lower legs.Prolonged standing, obesity, pregnancy etc increase the chances of development of varicose veins.
Medicines you are taking have no role in treating varicose veins.
Since these medicines contain pain killers like GABAPANTINE,you are getting relief because of that. These medicines won't treat your varicose veins.
Basically speaking it is very difficult to arrest the progress of this disease by any medicine.
Earlier stages of varicose veins are treated by wearing stockings, sleeping with legs elevated and sclerotherapy ( injection of sclerosing agents in the veins ).
Advanced stages are treated by destruction of defective valves in the veins or surgical removal of veins.
In cases where there are no symptoms except bad cosmetic experience,no treatment is offered.
You must get yourself evaluated by getting a Doppler ultrasound of veins done which would reveal the exact status of your veins.
Consult a surgeon for this. You can go to surgery department of APPPLLO HOSPITAL in your city.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
