Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Ankles

Question: I have had a swollen ankle for a week. Ithe rarely hurts when I walk on it and it is tender to the touch. I received test results today and the only thing that was elevated was my c reactive Protein. It was 8.5. Should I be concerned? Doctor's office did not offer any information.

Hello,
I have studied your case. Sudden onset of swelling in ankle is mostly due to collection of fluid in the ankle joint. it is called ankle synovitis. It can be due to high uric acid or prolong standing or trauma. I have following suggestions for you.
1. MRI can help you in confirmation of the cause of swelling.
2.Tablet Brufen for pain relief.
3. compression bandage applied.
4.To get uric acid low avoid red meat, alcohol, vegetables with seeds.
5.Brugel locall application.
