HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Erectile dysfunction which is abnormal function of the penis, is common. Normal penile function needs the following: (1) good blood supply to the area (2) enough male hormones and normal levels of other hormones(3) good nerve supply to the area (4) no stress, worry or relationship problems

If any of these are not good, then there can be problems with penile function.

Some of the conditions that can affect the blood supply are : (1) smoking (this causes the blood vessels to become narrow so that not enough blood passes in) , (2) high blood pressure (3) diabetes (4) high cholesterol (5) heart disease

In terms of hormones, if there are low levels of the male hormones (such as testosterone) or abnormal levels of the thyroid hormone, this problem can occur.

Some medications can also cause problems with penis function- medications for high blood pressure, some cholesterol medications and some medications for psychiatric problems.

It may be best to visit your doctor who can check to make sure that you do not have any illnesses that may be causing the problem, he or she may do blood tests to see if the hormone levels are normal and to check for diabetes.

If any of the hormones are abnormal then the levels can be corrected.

There is medication that is commonly used for ED, it would require a prescription. These are viagra, cialis, levitra. They work very well for most men, the only medication they are not to be used with are nitrates.
When your doctor is assessing you , you can ask for a prescription if he or she believes it is necessary.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
