Dear Doctor, For last 15 years I am taking following medicines:- Depsonil 25mg 2 tabs daily. Ridazine 50mg 1 tab daily. Repace 50mg 1 tab daily. Stablon 1 tab daily and Storvas since last 6 months for treatment of depression and cardiac problem. About 6 months ego a pacemaker has been implanted on me for slow heart rate. Before the implant, I used to take Cialis occasionally with very good results for my erectile dysfunction problem. My question is can I take Cialis now safely? Age 54 Sex Male Weight 80 Kgs Regards, D.N.

Hi,

Cialis is generally a safe drug, if used with heart medications. The only exception to this is, if you are using nitrates. As nitrates cause vasodilatation. Similarly, Cialis can also result in more vasodilatation , resulting in an increased fall in BP.

The use of Cialis as such is not contra-indicated anyway in patients who are having pacemaker. Also, in your case, as you were using Cialis also previously, without any ill effect. Therefore, in your case it seems almost safe. However, still it is always better to consult your cardiologist for a clear reply to your query.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
