welcome to healthcaremagic
there are 2 f tubes and one is sufficient for preg to occur in natural course rather it is said with single patent tube chance of preg is increased
it is not understood that for single patent tube only option be ivf/iui
there must be some other factors that have been the reason for the options
if all other factors including husband's then pregnancy can naturally
both the partners need evaluation and treatment if necessary for increased fertility

Hi Tripti, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Since you said that one of your Fallopian Tubes is patent you will still be possible to achieve pregnancy without too much help, if your Ovaries are Functioning right. Speak to your Doctor, she may give you fertility drugs to increase the chances of ovulating. In some cases, laparoscopic surgery can open blocked tubes or remove scar tissue that is causing the Blockage. You will have a 20% to 40% chance of getting pregnant after surgery. have you got your Husband's Semen Analysis done? Is it Normal? because, if there are any male infertility issues, you might want to skip surgery. In these cases, IVF or IUI treatment is the better option. I would like to let you know that the chances of Ectopic Pregnancy are higher after surgery to treat tubal blockage. Your doctor will closely monitor you, if you do get pregnant.
Wish you All the Very Best and Good Luck, Take Care.

Hi. I hope you can help me. I am so desperate for answers. I had a miscarriage last year and then a d&c. When I went for hsg, they said both my tubes were blocked. My RE said it was probably a spasm. I ve been trying to conceive since then with no luck. What are the chances that they were blocked, if I just had gotten pregnant 2 months prior? Please and thanks!!!!!!

Hello. Am a 28 year old female married for 8 years and have been trying for the pass 6 years with no luck untill January 2011 I found out that I was pregnant but it turned out to be a ectopic pregnancy so I had to end the pregnancy.my husband and I are heart broken. I lost my left tube due to the ectopic pregnancy. What is the chance that the right 1 might be block as well? What can I take to make sure that I get pregnant through my 1 and only tube that I have left without it not being a ectopic? Is there any proven herb to unblock tube?
