OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Irregular spotting at the time of periods can be due to pregnancy, if you are sexually active, or can be due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism or hyperprolactemia.
I would suggest you to wait for one week for your proper periods. If they are still not there, then do get a urine pregnancy test done( if you are sexually active).
If it is negative or if you are not sexually active, then do consult an OBGYN specialist for proper examination, investigations( including hormonal profile) and appropriate treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
