What Are The Reasons For Having Non-painful Fluttery Feeling In Heart Area?

I have a non-painful fluttery feeling in heart area. Comes every few minutes. Like a rumbling feeling. It is odd. I am 53 with high cholesterol. I cannot take statins as they caused muscle pain in calfs. So I take nothing for the high cholesterol. Otherwise I am healthy.

Hi, thank you for posting.

Basing on your symptoms I can say that you suffer from heart palpitations.
Heart palpitation is a nerve functional disease. It occurs in people that are stressed.
I recommend you to follow these advises in order to improve your health:
1. Physical exercises.
2. Avoid spicy foods.
3. Quit smoking cigarettes(if you smoke).
4. Do not drink alcoholic drinks and coffee.

To lower the level of cholesterol in blood you should:
1. Eliminate egg yolk, butter and animal fat from your diet.
2. Eat green vegetables and a lot of fruits.

To determine the right diagnosis you need:
1. Electrocardiogram.
2. Blood test.
3. Thyroid function test(T3 and T4 hormonal level).
4. Echocardiogram(ultrasound).
5. Physical examination by your cardiologist.

Contact your cardiologist.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards.
Dr. Behar.
