Hi,

It sounds like you may be experiencing cystic acne, which is a type of acne that forms deep within the skin and can result in painful, large bumps without a visible head. Cystic acne can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal imbalances, genetics, and certain medications.

To treat cystic acne, it's important to take a multi-faceted approach. Some steps you can take include:
* Keeping your skin clean: Wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser to help remove excess oil and debris.
* Applying topical treatments: Over-the-counter topical treatments containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or retinoids can help reduce inflammation and prevent future breakouts.
* Taking oral medications: If your acne is severe, your doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics or isotretinoin (Accutane) to help reduce inflammation and prevent scarring.
* Avoiding trigger foods: Certain foods, such as dairy and high-glycemic-index foods, can trigger acne in some people. Pay attention to what you eat and see if there's a correlation between your diet and your breakouts.
* Managing stress: Stress can contribute to acne, so finding ways to manage stress, such as exercise or meditation, can be helpful.

If your cystic acne is not improving with over-the-counter treatments, it's important to see a dermatologist for a personalized treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

It is difficult to diagnose your condition without seeing it in person or conducting further medical tests. However, the symptoms you describe may be consistent with a type of acne called cystic acne. A cystic acne is a severe form of acne that results in large, painful bumps on the face, chest, back or other areas of the body. Cystic acne can occur when oil and dead skin cells clog the hair follicles, leading to inflammation and infection.

Here are some treatment options you can try:
- Over-the-counter acne products: Look for products containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) that can help unclog pores and reduce inflammation.
- Prescription medication: If over-the-counter products don't work, see a dermatologist who can prescribe stronger medications such as retinoids, antibiotics, or hormonal therapy to help control your acne.
- Professional treatments: Dermatologists may also offer professional treatments such as chemical peels, cortisone injections, or light therapy to help reduce inflammation and speed up healing.
- Lifestyle changes: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, such as eating a well-balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding touching your face or picking at the bumps, can also help prevent acne breakouts.

It is important to note that squeezing or picking at acne bumps can cause further inflammation and scarring. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it is recommended that you seek medical attention from a healthcare provider.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
