Gyming is good if you stick to aerobic exercises like tread mill etc Avoid doing exercises on your own. Take the advice of your gym instructor. And if you are still doubtful about the gym, working out in the open is anytime better. Try jogging, cycling or swimming for atleast 30 mins a day. Do not go for crash diets. Help yourself to a lot of fibre through fruits and raw vegetables. Aerated drinks contribute to weight gain so keep it low. Have ample amount of sleep.

Psychiatrist Dr. Shubham Mehta's  Response
It is good to have healthy and toned body. Gym does not cause harm but over stressing your body is not gud. You can opt for aerobics, treadmill, yoga etc in gym instead of weight-lifting.
