For over 2 days now I have a pain in the back of my head not neck and I feel unwell and slightly sick. i feel better if i compress it with a scarf and tie it round my head tight. i suffer from migraines but this is nothing like that, also \I feel a slight pain in my left ear

First of all, you should measure your blood pressure. If it were normal, you could take some pain killer. You can also do a CT brain to exclude a brain lesion.
