Wrist Pain, Swelling Thumb, Applied Ice. No Swelling. Suggestions?
My daughter fell back and braced herself with her left hand. Her wrist started hurting right away, we iced and told her to rest. There was no swelling or bruising at the time. 3 days later now her thumb is starting to swell, and she is still complaining about her arm. She can move her fingers and her wrist with some pain, but didn t seem like anything serious. What should we do?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the wrist and thumb is likely to be due to a soft tissue injury in the area due to the fall. In addition to ice, she can wrap a crepe bandage or an elastic wrist brace for relief. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
