Dear,as You are diagnosed for your abdominal pain,as being IBS and treated accordingly,You need not give much thought to MRI for knowing cause of abdominal pain. Just have Second Physician opinion,which You can always have if not satisfied with your attending doctor. Its the clinical and physical examination, which is more important in arriving at right diagnosis of cause of your abdominal pain.If MRI is indicated let your doctor decide on it.Don t get obsessed on wrong ideas .MRI does not detect any disease.
