Would A Prick From Needle Full Of Insulin Affect Me?

If I stuck myself with a needle full of insulin (Lantus) that I was giving to my Mom.Would it affect me in anyway? My sugar levels have been tested and run extremely low and last night I got a little dizzy and was covered in sweat and couldn't even keep water down all night.

Hi and thanks for this query.

Being pricked by a needle containing insulin should not cause any more problems beyond the risk of being pricked be a needle that does not belong to you. There should be no abnormalities to your sugar levels caused by this as you received almost no insulin into your system. Your symptoms should be investigated for other causes and not entire tied to this accident.

If the needle had been used before on your mom, get tested for diseases that can be possibly transmitted through blood. if it were not the case, then stay calm in this regard.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information if needed.
