General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi ,
Crieteria for treatment of Dog bite was divided previously into three categories and treated accordingly . Now WHO Guidline states intially it should be cleaned with running tap water n virucidal agent like betadine , open wound should not be sutured and haemostasis should be achieved as a emergency management .
Active immunization should be given on day 0,3,7,14&28. If dog survives after 10 days then last 2 dose should not be taken.
Passive immunization should be given if there is open wound n blood oose out despite of category .
Other management done accordingly like antibiotics , analgesic , ppi etc
hope it ll help.

Thanks n regards
