Would I Be Protected If I Take The Birth Control Pill During My Menstrual Bleeding Which Occurred After I Temporarily Discontinued The Pill?

Hi so I started the pill 2 weeks ago and I stopped it a week later because I was sick and too scared to carry on with it coz I didn’t want to be sick again but I think I just needed to eat with it. I started the pill when I was on my period so I knew I was protected straight away. 2 days ago I came on my period even though I was only on it 2 weeks ago. I think that was just because of the pill and i know you bleed when you stop the pill. If I started the pill again now whilst being on my period will I be protected in 2 days time?

Hi,

Irregular intake of oral contraceptive can lead to spontaneous ovulation which can cause pregnancy. Taking pills while withdrawal bleeding can affect bleeding but may not stop all the changes brought about by missing a pill. things.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
