Hello Dr. I m 26 yrs old and married last 6months...i had a problem of irregular periods...thats why every months i m confusing my pragnancy....my doctor pescribe me to have yamaini tablets for irregular periods....is it safe for me or my future pragnany

I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell you that Yamini is a combination of drospirenone and ethinylestradiol which is mainly used for contraception. Most oral contraceptives also help regularize the menstrual cycle. Some persons use oral contraceptives such as Yamini for years with no complications so you are unlikely to experience any complications using it for the six month period.
Its use will not affect your future fertility when you discontinue it.

For future pregnancy, there is no problem. This is common drug used for contraception as well as to regularize the periods.

Just that when you plan pregnancy, consult the doctor first. She/he can guide you on pre-pregnancy care
