Will Methamphetamine Cause Any Damage To An Existing Wound Or Infection?

My boyfriend is using meth and he cut his hand very bad on some glass. He super glued it shut himself instead of going to get stitches. It is now infected and he is on antibiotics but I was wondering if his meth use could it cause more damage to the wound or infection? Thanks for your advise!

Hello,
After going through your history it makes me to have doubt that your boy friend is a abuser of Methamphetamine. The use of meth has influenced in reducing the pain but the glass pieces has infected the wound .Physical effects of methamphetamine includes hyperactivity and flushed skin.As such Meth does not have any role in wound infection or damage.
As he is receiving the antibiotics definitely the infections will come down and he will be alright in some time.As you are taking care of him try to avoid use of Meth.please feel free to asks the doubt regarding this.
Thank you.
