hi doctor. my son is 19 years old, last month his weight was 208lbs; sgot was 200 and sgpt was 300. Then he cut down his fat intake and when he got his sgop it was only 100 and sgpt was 200; his weight went down to 202 lbs. what can you advice us to do? please help
Hello He likely has what is know as fatty liver syndrome and it can be treated with a low cholesterol/low fat diet and weight loss. If he continues to do well with his diet and loses about another ten pounds, the SGOT and the SGPT levels may well get into the normal range
