Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi there

Yes it bothers when your heart starts racing inside, I would like to advice you to get an ECG done when your heart is beating fast so as to find out whether it's just a sinus tachycardia or some other abnormal rhythm. I would also like to advise a Thyroid profile as thyroid disorders are also known to cause Tachycardias. If finally it comes out to be just a sinus tachycardia then we can start up on low dose beta blockers to control the symptoms. And one more important thing is to stop smoking completely if you do as nicotine in cigarettes also causes tachycardia.

Good Luck
