I recently was unable to get my levothyroxine medication and had not taken it for a week I had an appointment with my doctor for a blood test and my cholesterol had dropped from 7.9 to 6.1 I think there is something in this medication that is causing my cholesterol to peak surely this is not a good medication ?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Normally high cholesterol is associated with low levels of thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism). The use of thyroid replacement hormones such as levothyroxine should cause a decrease, not increase in cholesterol.

It is not likely the medication is causing your issues with cholesterol.

I hope this helps
