Why Is Temodar Continued If It Sensitizes Cancer Cells To Radiation Effects?

My wife was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme IV on September 26, 2010, had the tumor successfully resected on September 20, 2010, went through a course or radiation and Temodar and has been receiving bi-weekely Avastin. I have read that Temodar sensitizes the cancer cells to the effects of radiation but wonder why it is being continued on a 5 day on 25 days off schedule after the radiation has completed its course.
