Why Have I Started Feeling Insomniac ?

Hi doctor , I ve been having trouble sleep for a few weeks now. I used to have problems sleeping about 6 years ago but that was due to stress. This time, I don t think there s a trigger. The only thing is probably I stayed up late till 00:30 or 1:30am for 1 week or 2 (although not everyday) prior to my current sleeping problem starts. I don t nap during the day and try to go to bed at about 22:00 but often i am way too tired and want to sleep at 21:00. Even though I am extremely tired, I could only drift off for a few seconds and don t seem to be able to get into sleep. I tried the Kalm sleep tablets for 3-4 days this week and they don t see to help much as I keep waking up about 10 times each night for 2 nights. I was unable to sleep for the last 2 nights at all until 6-6:30am in the morning, the sleep lasted for 1 hour only and I always dreamed. Is there something physically wrong with me? Or some hormones are just not produced to a normal level to help me fall asleep? I am a 32-year-old female, 5.4 in height and around 8.5 st.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

You can go for a walk in the evening or night and then try reading some books before going to sleep. You can also do yoga which can really help you out. If all this is not helping then you can consult a doctor.
thank you.
