Why Do I Smell Exhaust Fumes All The Time?
Hi, for the last 2 days I ve been smelling exhaust fumes and I asked my family if they smell the same thing and they said no, I ve been looking for answers on line today, and There are people experience the same thing, but they all have different answer, can your tell me what could be the most possibilities/cause for someone to have experience this.

Hi dear ,
As per your query you are experiencing exhaust fumes smell . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards two possibilities .
First there is possibility of allergic reaction from any external allergen like food ,cosmetic and pollens .
Secondly there can be possibility of condition known as olfactory hallucination also known as phantosmia . Phantosmia may occur after a head injury or upper respiratory infection. It can also be caused by temporal lobe seizures, inflamed sinuses, brain tumors and Parkinson's disease.
I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist or otolaryngologist . Doctor may order throat swab test , blood test , nasal endoscopy or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic course along with other treatment depending upon the diagnosis . For now do warm saline gargles and take benadryl twice a day .
