Hi,

Your symptoms and your personal profile points towards carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is the condition in which the space underneath the carpal ligament is reduced causing pressure over the passing median nerve resulting the symptoms of numbness, paresthesia and pain.

It is very common in females of more then 40 yrs of age, who are hypothyroid. To confirm the diagnosis you need to get a USG or MRI (wrist) is required. As far as treatment is concerned it ranges from conservative with splints and nerve strengthening drugs to operative release of carpal ligament.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rohan Shanker Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
