Why Did My Second Pregnancy Test Show Equivocal Result?
Hi..
i am 27 year old..i got last period on 28 april 2015...on 30 of May i went to lab for urine pregnancy test ,it was positive...
I again went for urine pregnancy test on 6 june..but result was equivocal..today morning i do pregnancy test at home it was again positive...
my question is if 2 test suggested it was positive then why the middle test show equivocal result...

Hello
Middle test may show equivocal test due to inappropriate hCG hormone in urine.This is commonly seen in early pregnancy.
This condition require follow up or ultrasound of pelvis.
Ultrasound of pelvis is the investigation of choice to confirm pregnancy.
Findings suggests that most likely you are pregnant but I suggest for ultrasound of pelvis for confirmation.

An equivocal test means that the HCG levels in the urine were not adequate to give a positive result. An equivocal test means the pregnancy could go either way, however the last test was a positive, which is good.
Urine tests don't give a measure of HCG, like blood HCG tests which are considered easier to interpret.
I would suggest you consult your gynecologist and do a blood HCG test as well as a pelvic ultrasound. The scan will help you confirm an intra-uterine pregnancy and determine gestational age.
