Why Did I Miss My Period And Why Does My Stomach Feel So Full?
I take provera to have monthly cycles. I finished my last pill a week ago and my period has not come. I woke up this morning feeling really full in my stomache. Just questiong why my period has not come which it normally does 2-3 days after last pill and why does my stomache feel so full?
Provera is a progesterone preparation which has birth control effect also. So the chances of pregnancy are very remote.
Progesterone only does go on diminishing the amount of bleeding of menstruation. Ultimately, it may land into no bleeding at all. The full feeling in the stomach could be due to gastric upset. Pregnancy does not cause it at such early stage. Some antacids like Gelucil will give you relief from it.
If you do not get menses even after 10 days, you may get urine pregnancy test and/or ultrasonography performed to rule out pregnancy. Once pregnancy is ruled out, you may take oestrogen + progesterone tablets for a couple of days and then discontinue. You will get withdrawal menstruation.
I would advise you to take combined (Oestrogen + Progesterone) pills instead of progesterone only preparations for regularising your cycles.
I hope you have got the guidance on your problem.
