Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cold headache along with tonsillitis . Well tonsillitis occur when there is severe upper respiratory track infection or infection left untreated for long times . It can occur due to viral and bacterial infection . I would suggest you to not to take antibiotics without doctor's prescription . Consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and rule out causes like viral infection in which antibacterial drugs do no good . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test . Doctor may prescribe anti viral ( acyclovir ) along with decongestants and mucolytic agent . For now avoid cold food or beverages , do warm saline gargles several times a day and drink warm water mix with one spoon honey .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
