General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Blood test is not necessary for apixaban. Apixaban is an oral anticoagulant (directly acting Factor-Xa inhibitor) commonly prescribed to prevent the stroke in patient with atrial fibrillation and prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism. It does not require lab monitoring and hence can be taken safely. However, you must report to your doctor if you suffering from bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
