What Treatment Is Suggested For Irregular Periods?

I have irregular periods since my periods ever started.as told by many doctors I have hormonal imbalances.do I need regular treatment..I am 35 yrs of age and have 6 yrs old daughter.do not plan to have any more kids but for my health what is advisable?

Thanks for discussing your concerns with us.
Irregular periods may indicate infrequent or absent ovulation. They need treatment if you want regular periods for your satisfaction or you have difficulty conceiving. If none of the above applies to you & you are very much used to this pattern then probably no treatment is required unless you are not having periods for more than 3-4 months, as this may lead to endometrial hyperplasia & future health problems.
Consult a Gynecologist if you notice any change in your bleeding pattern specially after the age of 40.
