What Treatment Is Suggested For Hyper Pigmentation Without Any Side Effects?

I have a chemical burn from salicyclic acid medication; I used a spot tx (3%) and cleansing pad, and I guess I over did it. Now I have an ugly reddish brown mark and the skin is completely peeling. What is the best over the counter cream to heal this wound? I am prone ro hyperpigmentation.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Salicylic acid is an irritant and can cause redness, dryness and skin peeling.

In such a case I would have advised you to use a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g fluticasone twice daily over the patch, for a week

Use a gentle cleanser for face wash, preferably non-soap based e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, rather than using a soap.

regards
