What To Do If Having Cystic Acne Around Mouth Causing Tenderness Inside Mouth When Popped?

okay so im 17 and i tend to get bad cystic acne around my mouth especially on my chin. The other day i felt one coming on by the corner of my mouth and as much as i know i shouldn't do it, i try to pop these monsters. i thought that it was going to pop easy but much to my dismay, it didn't. i pushed enough that i heard a pop and got a little yellow liquid out but not like usual.. i could still feel the pressure. now two days later and i have a huge knot on the inside of my mouth where the zit was on the outside. it is extremely tender. so i was wondering if it is possible to pop a cystic zit inwards or if this is just an ironic random bump in my mouth? and if it is possible to pop it inwards, how would i fix the tenderness on the inside of my mouth?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cystic acne around mouth causing tenderness inside mouth when popped which is severest form of acne and it occurs when debris, bacteria and dead skin cells get clogged in pores and causing area to be red and swollen. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. You should wash your face using a clindamycin gel with mild soap and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe chemical peeling and laser therapy.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
