What The Symptoms Like Hand Flapping, Behaviour Problems And Attention Seeking Relates To?

hi i have a 4 year old son who has been hand flapping since he was 1.he dribbles alot,grinds his teeth and when he go's in to his own world he laughs,smiles etc he can bang his head a won't even feel it.he has a short attention span,speech and language delays and has behaviour problems.

Hi, Thanks for asking. In my opinion your child seems to be having many of the features of Autism.
If such a patient comes to my clinic I would do a formal assessment for Autism scoring such as CARS or ADI-R, also neuroimaging and homocystein and lead levels.
In my opinion he will benefit from occupational therapy, sensory integration and speech and language therapy.
For his hyperactivity, he may be given a stimulant medication which requires prescription. I would suggest you consult a developmental and behavioural paediatrician or a child psychiatrist.
