What Tests Should Be Done For A Child With XYY Syndrome?

My son has XYY syndrome and is 2years old. Except for the typical symptoms in children with XYY, he hums a lot but does not babel or even vocalize. He tends to flaps his arms when he is excited. This occurs frequently when he sees moving vehicles. I am concerned that he may not be able to speak at all and may have other symptoms that would require more tests. I would like to know what other tests we could do besides array GCH and FISH to get to the bottom of this? I would also like to know if it is common for kids with XYY to exhibit his symptoms I mentioned above.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

The above said symptoms are common in XYY syndrome. Kindly consult a developmental pediatrician or pediatric neurologist for evaluation. We may have to screen for learning disabilities, language delay or autism. Your doctor will guide in this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
