my son is 6 yrs old. he has been having a cold for the pass two days. and now he have pink eye.. and he seems very uncomfortable right now. the pediatric said to keep him home unless his temp spike to 101, but i have to give him tylenol cause he is in pain. what is this? should i run to ER?
Hello It seems from the history that your 6 year old son is having cold and later he had developed pink eye indicating conjunctivitis. Pink eye or conjunctivitis is seen commonly along with cold because of infection spreading to the eye. However no need to worry this can be treated by antibiotic eye drops along with treatment for cold as advice by your pediatric doctor. The newer antibiotics like moxifkoxacin are safe for use in children, hence consult your doctor for prescription.
Thank you
