What Should I Do As I Am Having Pain In My Wrist Due To A Fall?

Thank you. Fell down some stairs 4 days ago. Injured my rt wrist. Since then the pain has increased and is affecting movement from thumb side up arm. Pain also wakes me during sleep. I don't notice any real swelling or bruising. Just sharp pain in movement, gripping, etc. Pain mostly up thumb side as well as inner wrist area. Not one to see doctors, usually just suck it up. (and I work in a hospital!) what are your thoughts? I am a healthy , 53 year old, petite female. Thank You.

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
From your description it seems that you have suffered a fractured wrist due to the impact of the fall. You need to immobilize the wrist and attend an ER for X-ray and other investigations for initiation of treatment.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
