What Should Be Proper Diet In Hypertension?

I am 41 years and male married having two children. I am having Hypertension for last couple of years. I am working and most of the time sitting and working on computers. Recent tests shows that my overall cholestrol level has gone up to 239. May you suggest what type of excercise or food would help me to reduce the same. I understand high cholestrol with HT is not a good thing to carry with. I am taking- Betaloc, Losardil (for HT) and Divastin (for Cholestrol) Thanks for your help. Kind regards.

With regard to your condition of hypertension and high cholesterol there are few changes that you could bring about in your diet. An ideal eating plan to reduce blood pressure is rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy foods, while low in saturated and trans-fats. Eat less pre-cooked or processed food, and more fresh food. Sodium is found naturally in fresh foods like meats, nuts, grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, but in much lower quantities than in processed foods. Do not have salt on the table while eating. If you cook with salt, switch to chili, ginger and lemon juice for flavoring. The individual menu differs basing on the glycemic status, Blood pressure control at each part of the day and calorie requirements. It differs along with the Lipid profile and the Renal functional status too. We advise you to seek the help of a Nutritionist in your area for a personalized diet plan basing on your diet patterns. He / she will also suggest exercises based on your profile.
