What Relieves The Pain Due To Chronic Sternotomy Of The Sternum?

Good afternoon, I suffer very severe persistant pain due to many surgeries including chronic sternotomy of my sternum from open heart surgery. I have 5 herniated discs in my lower back up to my neck, both of my knees reconstructed from a head on car crash. The pain clinic has me on Percocet, 10/325, 2tablets 4 times a day. sometimes I have so much pain I will take 2 more in the middle of the night. I have read so many bad things about acetaminophen and liver damage I want to change the meds. After much research I would like the percocet without the tylenol. I have read they do make Oxy IR, is this a better choice for me. I am a responsible 55 year old male who has to work. The percocets work very well but living with a bad heart I am very nervous about liver damage. Do you feel in your opinion I am correct about taking all this tylenol everyday? Thank You, M Johnson, Chicago, IL
