Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

If the white patches have been noticed only recently then it could be due to cataract formation. This can be operated and has good visual recovery. However presence of white patch on the black portion since childhood could mean that it is a corneal opacity. This can be treated surgically by corneal transplantation. Kindly discuss these with your ophthalmologist.
