What Is The Treatment For Swollen And Painful Tragus?

My husband has a pimple like swelling and intense pain on his tregas. It seems to attack each ear independently and his ears leak fluid and always itch. He has been to ear nose and throat, dermatologist and family doctor. It becomes so enflamed and swollen but can not be popped. Eventually at times we have popped it but what do you think? Also he does not have ear infections

Hi,

Swollen tragus can be due to a recurrent FURUNCULOSIS, otitis externa is the another possibility. In both the cases topical and systemic antibiotics like MUPIROCIN for topical use and Amoxicillin Clavulanic acid for systemic use is preferred. Along with it, you are also advised to take hot fomentation and some anti inflammatory drugs like Diclofenac.

Hope it helps. If you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact again.
