Hello. Thanks for writing to healthcaremagic

You seem to have Androgenetic alopecia, which is a genetically predisposed patterned hair loss; characterized by hair loss and hair thinning from the top of the scalp along with gradually receding anterior hair line.
The patients also complain that the hair thinning is more from the angles of anterior hair line thus causing them to become wider and deep.
The medications that have been prescribed by the different doctors are essentially the same. All of them asked you to apply topical minoxidil 5% solution.
Only 2 drugs are approved for this type of hair loss, Minoxidil solution and oral finasteride.
Response to treatment is slow and therefore patience is the key. Response is usually evident after 3-4 months of regular use and is maximum at 2 years of continuous use.
Thereafter the patients may be made to switch over to a maintenance regime which consists of once daily Or alternate day minoxidil and daily finasteride for the rest of the life.
I would suggest that you seek another appointment with your dermatologist and stick to the prescribed treatment for at least 1-2 years for best results.

Regards
