What Is The Treatment For Painful And Dark Bruise Near Thumb?
My daughter is 23. She came home from work with a bruise and slight lump at the base of her left thumb..by palm and wrist area. She said no injury and was just typing when she felt soreness and pain. It has been about 6 hours and the bruise is darker..lump bigger with more pain and feels hot to touch. Should there be concrn or take her in

Hi. As per the history your daughter has provided this can be formation of a hematoma due to rupture of a small blood vessel in the muscle causing this typical pain. I still wonder if only typing can cause this. Anyways apply ice fomentations/ compresses . elevated that hand above heart level in lying down position, give something like Ibuprofen. and consult a Doctor ASAP. Clinical examination may reveal more.
