What Is The Treatment For Itchy Red Bumps On The Buttock?

I have itchy red bumps on my butt recently (towards the inside of cheek), my boyfriend does too. His are much more itchy and irritated looking. We ve both been tested and found negative for herpes. I was worried it was bed bugs biting in a straight row but not 100% sure that is it, a. because we had an inspector who found no evidence (still a possibility), b. because of the similar and reoccurring location on the body for both myself and my boyfriend. Unrelated but also maybe related, I happen to have lots of red patchy rashes on my neck and shoulders, not itchy or painful or raised, so does my mother. For years I ve had this, I think it s Tinea versicolor and have had it for years. Is this all related? It would explain a lot. The real current problem is, do I have bed bugs who only bite our butts? or is am I yeast filled in a hot New York apt and a rash is flaring up in an odd place (reoccurring) and happening exactly the same to my significant other?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be Tinea corporis. As it is infectious, your boyfriend may be having same. It is a fungal infection caused by dermatophyte. Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

Both of you may apply antifungal cream like sertaconazole cream twice a day.
Cap itroconazole 200 mg daily for 2 to 3 weeks along with antihistaminics like desloratidine may be considered. Keep the area dry. Avoid soap bath. Improve immunity and hygiene .

I hope this would help.
