Hi,

As per your query you have severe ear pain which is because of ear infection which sometimes remains persistent and leads to recurrent otitis media and ear pain.

Need not to worry. You should do warm saline gargles, take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to the external ear. I would suggest you consult an ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. The doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check the level of infection. The doctor may order a throat swab test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicillin or penicillin) at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti-inflammatory medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
