What Is The Treatment For Diabetes?

My blood sugar is always significantly high in the morning but OK during the day. My Glycomark test is near normal. I take 2500mg Metformin and insulin. I have tried everything. I have read that aromatase inhibitors can raise blood sugar but I can not go off this. Many doctors have tried to address this. I am not overweight 5 8 148lbs. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I have encountered this problem in some of my patients.
There can be two reasons for this.
1. During the night your blood sugar may go below normal and the body tries to raise by secreting hormones that raise blood sugar. But more hormone than necessary is secreted in some people and the morning sugar is high. This phenomenon is called Somogyi effect.
2. There is another condition called Dawn phenomenon in which the liver releases glucose during the night and the morning blood sugar is high.
I may have some suggestion you could try if you would get back to me with your blood sugar values, A1c, the type and amount of Insulin you take and the food with the carb count you have for your supper.
