What Is The Treatment For Cough And Blocked Nose?

My friend took a morning after pill, before she took it she was a bit sick already with a bit of a cold and she was coughing a lot. After she took the pill roughly about 3 hours after her cough got worse and she said she had trouble breathing. She couldn't breathe through her nose as it was blocked. What should I advise her to do? I am very worried that her breathing could be because of the morning after pill as that would be bad but I'm not sure if it is because of her cold. Please help me!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cough and blocked nose which could be due to allergic sinusitis, nasal polyps, upper respiratory infection and deviated nasal septum. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined right now only to find cause of nasal blockage and then start treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with decongestant and expectorant .You should Squeeze one karvol capsule into a handkerchief or put it over his nose while asleep as it will resolve discomfort. You should use Sinarest drops 3-4 times daily to relieve congestion. Take steam inhalation and gargle with salt water. avoid cold food and you can also drink warm water with one spoon of raw honey .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
