What Is The Treatment For Anxiety Disorder During Pregnancy?

I am almost 24 weeks pregnant. I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. I used to be prescribed xanax. I had a panic attack today and went ahead and took a xanax. Also, I had smoked marijuana to see if it would help with my nausea. Is both the marijuana and the xanax going to show up in my sons first stool? I know the health risks and am never going to smoke marijuana again. I m just dont want to have another panic attack worring about my unborn son and about them taking him away from me due to xanax or marijuana. I just hope its not too late

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
The anti-anxiety drug of choice for panic disorder in pregnancy is valium(prescription drug)
Xanax and marijuana are highly unsafe. But i think you should not worry because 2nd trimester is a relatively safe period to take medicines. However you should be cautious and should not self-medicate yourself.
You must also practice relaxation exercises lime deep breathing and meditation. These also help to reduce frequency of panic attacks and keep your mind calm.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
