What Is The Treatment For A Lump Behind The Ear?

Ive had a lump the width of a quarter behind my left ear since about 12 years old. I am now 33. It doesn t hurt. It only swelled up once, about a year ago and had liquidy pus in it. After it burst, it went back to its original size and texture, hard. Today, i noticed a small opening on it. When I squeezed it, a brown gooey consistency oozed out like a worm, after a while, nothing else came out and it remained hard as it had always. It is not painful though. My grandmother had lumps on her neckand ear area but it was determined as just lumps? I am not sure if this has anything to dp with it?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Your swelling needs to be surgically drained if that is the case. The opening would be widened and all exudate would be drained with a pack in there . If there is a tract formed needs to removed. Sebaceous cyst if there needs to excised properly. She may be having the same thing. Urs maybe infected or a horn. In any case - removal
